Considering different cars..but I have a question?

Is a BMW or Mercedes, I am going to buy an older moder..not brand new..But 60,ooo miles at most I would like to stick@. I understand that I need full coverage when loan from a bank, but are these 2 cars more expensive to insure in general? I am considering sedans and convertibles.
