Should a convicted felon loose his right to make a living?

Under the Texas Department of Lisencing and Regulation - Occupational Code. A person convicted of a felony offence shall not be permitted to hold a trade lisence such as a journymans electricians lisence, plumbers lisence or a HVAC lisence. Their reasons for this is sapposidly to restrict a convicted felons access to a residents or business to prevent them from engageing in criminal activity at that residents or business. Do they fail to realize that a person who is employed is much less likely to committ a crime than one who is unemployed and has no hope of every returning to the trade that they have been in for 20 years. This is a good idea for offenders and child molesters, but what about the hard working guy who just has 2 - 3 DWIs or someone with a drug conviction? What happened to rehabilitation? The state of Texas makes big, big money off of its prisons. To me it just sounds like a way to keep the prisons full. If they took my right to make a living I'd consider robbing banks
