Overnite dead cylinder on a olds achieva s 1992 quad 4 engine?

i developed a dead cyl. overnite. i was told its a common problem on the engines something about the coil pack on top of the motor. in fact preveous owner changed this part once. is this true may this be my problem? any help please? thank you
